Ed (Hart Bochner), Claire (Nastassja Kinski) and their beautiful daughter Samantha had everything until Ed loses his job. His damaged ego and excessive spending has put a strain on their marriage. On holiday by herself, Claire meets Julian Banks (William Baldwin), a successful real estate executive. Claire becomes attracted to him and the two have an affair. She immediately regrets it and ends the affair.

When Claire returns home, she is surprised to learn that Ed has a new
job -- Vice President of Advertising at Julian Banks Realty. Afraid to lose
her family, Claire says nothing of the affair or Ed’s new boss. However
she soon discovers that Julian is obsessed with her. A manipulative liar Julian will do anything to have her.

Ed grows suspicious of Julian and begins to investigate. He realizes that
his small family is in very serious trouble. Julian’s dangerous obsession
not only puts the couple’s marriage at stake ... but their lives as well.
